Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Muslim American Society ("MAS", "we", "us") collects on this Young Professionals Lighthouse Conference page, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can opt out. It covers this page only. Other MAS websites publish their own policies.

1. What we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Information you give us. If you submit the interest form on this page, we collect your email address. We do not ask for your name, phone number, or payment details on this page.

Information collected automatically. When you load this page, our host records standard request data including your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring page, and the time of the request. The advertising, analytics, and session-recording tools described in section 4 may also set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and record how you move through and interact with the page.

2. Why we collect it

• To send you information about the Lighthouse Conference that you asked for.
• To record which pricing tier was active when you signed up, so we send you accurate deadline reminders.
• To understand which advertisements and links bring people to this page, so we spend the community's money well.
• To measure, analyze, and improve this page, our advertising, and our future MAS programs and events.
• To keep the page working, fast, and protected from abuse.
• To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

3. Email and how to stop it

Email addresses submitted here are stored in Mailchimp. We use confirmed opt-in: after you submit the form, Mailchimp sends a confirmation email, and you receive nothing further unless you click the link in it. This list is dedicated to the Lighthouse Conference. Submitting this form does not add you to any other MAS mailing list.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you immediately. You may also email us at the address in section 9 and ask to be removed.

4. Advertising, analytics, and cookies

This page uses cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies supplied by advertising and analytics providers. We use them to measure which advertisements and links bring people here, to understand how visitors use the page, and to show conference advertisements to people who may be interested. By using this page you consent to this. We may add, replace, or remove these providers over time.

Some of these tools record how you interact with the page, including mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and the content displayed on screen, so that we can see where the page is confusing and improve it.

We advertise this conference on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. This page loads the Meta Pixel, which reports back to Meta when a visitor arrives from an advertisement or takes an action such as clicking through to registration. Meta receives information about your visit, including your IP address and the pages you viewed, and may connect it to your Meta account if you have one. Meta may use that information to show you advertisements and to build audiences of people who resemble our visitors. Meta's handling of that data is governed by its Data Policy.

You can limit all of this in several ways:

• Adjust your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.
• Set your browser to refuse cookies or to warn you before accepting them. Most browsers accept cookies by default.
• Turn on your browser's Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" setting, where offered.
• Opt out of participating advertising networks through the Network Advertising Initiative.

If you delete cookies, use a different browser, or use a different device, you will need to set these preferences again.

5. Registration and payment

Registration and payment for this conference happen on Eventbrite, not on this page. When you click a registration button you leave this site. Eventbrite collects your name, contact details, and payment information under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only with the service providers who make this page work: our email provider, our advertising platform, our website host, and our ticketing platform, each for the purposes described above and no other.

We will disclose personal information if we are required to by a court order, by law, or by a government agency.

California residents: our use of advertising cookies described in section 4 may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can stop it using any of the methods in section 4, or by emailing us at the address in section 9. We will not discriminate against you for exercising this right.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Access to subscriber data is limited to the people who need it to run this campaign. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

This conference is for adults and this page is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at the address in section 11 and we will delete it.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Advertising and analytics identifiers expire according to the schedules set by the providers named in section 4.

10. Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you,
• correct it if it is wrong,
• delete it,
• stop sending you email, or
• stop sharing your information for advertising purposes.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please review it from time to time.
