Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to the Young Professionals Lighthouse Conference, held Oct 30 – Nov 1, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL, and organized by the Muslim American Society. By registering you agree to them.

1. Registration and payment

Registration is handled by Eventbrite. Your purchase is also subject to Eventbrite's own terms of service and to the registration agreement shown at checkout. Prices are in US dollars. A registration is confirmed only once Eventbrite has processed payment and issued a ticket. Where the checkout agreement and this page differ on refunds, the term more favorable to you applies.

2. Refunds and cancellations

You may cancel your registration and receive a full refund of the registration fee up to and including October 23, 2026, seven days before the conference opens. After October 23, 2026 registration fees are non-refundable, including if you do not attend. To cancel, email us at the address in section 12 on or before that date.

A refund covers the registration fee only. It never covers costs you booked yourself, including flights, hotel rooms, theme park tickets, meal tickets, or any booking or processing fee charged by our ticketing provider.

If MAS cancels the conference outright, registration fees are refunded in full. MAS is not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other costs you booked independently.

3. Code of conduct

Attendees are expected to follow this code of conduct while on site. Anyone who violates it may be asked to leave without a refund.

• Treat every attendee, speaker, volunteer, and member of hotel staff with respect.
• Derogatory comments or gestures, intimidation, and threats of violence are prohibited.
• Vandalism or damage to the venue is prohibited, and you are personally liable for damage you cause.
• Alcohol, cigarettes, illegal drugs, firearms, and fireworks are prohibited on site.
• Tampering with fire alarms or any other safety equipment is prohibited.
• Keep noise to a minimum between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM out of consideration for other hotel guests.
• Attendees under 18 are subject to a midnight curfew. Loitering is not permitted at any time.

Following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), we ask attendees to conduct themselves with courtesy and to represent the community well.

4. Badges and access

Your badge is your admission. Wear it at all times on site. Some sessions are restricted to registered attendees. If you lose your badge, go to the registration desk for a replacement. Badges are not transferable.

For everyone's safety, you may be asked to have your bags checked before entering a session. We may decline entry if you do not consent to a search of your belongings. Report anything suspicious, any medical issue, or any other emergency to conference staff or hotel security immediately.

5. Photography and recording

MAS photographs and films this conference. By attending, you grant MAS permission to use your image and likeness in materials promoting MAS and its programs, without payment. You may withdraw this permission at any time by writing to the address in section 12, and you may also tell a member of conference staff on arrival.

Session content is the property of MAS and its speakers. Attendees may not record talks or workshops in audio, video, or photographic form without written permission.

6. Assumption of risk

You attend and participate at your own risk. MAS, its organizers, volunteers, and members assume no liability for loss, theft, damage, or injury to persons or property arising from your attendance, whether in contract, negligence, or otherwise. Do not leave valuables unattended.

You agree to cover any claim, damage, or cost, including reasonable legal fees, that arises from your own negligent, reckless, or deliberate acts during the conference, including damage you cause to the venue or to another person's property.

The optional theme park outing is operated by a third party under its own terms and safety rules. MAS is not responsible for that operator's conduct.

7. Medical care and transportation

If you need emergency medical attention during the conference and cannot consent for yourself, you authorize MAS staff to seek and consent to that care on your behalf. You remain responsible for the cost of any medical care you receive.

Where MAS arranges transportation, including to the optional theme park outing, you agree to use the vehicle you are assigned and to follow the directions of MAS staff, volunteers, and any third-party operator running it.

8. Speaker views

Opinions expressed by speakers are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Muslim American Society.

9. Program changes

The schedule, speakers, and sessions may change. MAS will publish material changes on the conference page. A change of speaker or session is not grounds for a refund.

10. Right to refuse

MAS may decline or revoke any registration at its discretion, refunding the registration fee where the decision is not the result of a code of conduct violation.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, where the Muslim American Society is headquartered.

We will try to resolve any dispute by direct negotiation first. If that fails, the dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and the arbitrator's award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force.
